Low Back Pain, Pregnancy, SI Joint Belt
This presentation will give practitioners a useful guide on obtaining a thorough subjective history, possible diagnoses for low back pain in pregnancy, and various treatment methods physical therapists can use to reduce low back pain in the pregnant population. The diagnoses will include special considerations of this population and best practices for treatments such as the use of sacroiliac joint belts, manual therapy techniques, various exercises, and pool therapy to reduce low back pain in pregnancy. Attendees will come away with actionable recommendations for diagnostic special tests and treatment techniques that can be implemented into the practitioner's plan of care.
Upon completion of the course, the attendee will be able to:
• Identify key diagnostic special tests for guiding treatment of low back in the pregnant population.
• Name key considerations and best practices for treating low back pain in the pregnant population.
• Choose targeted, pregnancy-appropriate interventions.
• Treatments (SIJ belt, manual treatment, exercises, aquatic therapy)
• Special considerations and best practices
