This course is designed to introduce Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) and its current techniques and research to healthcare professionals looking to add another tool to their clinical toolbox. This course explores both a musculoskeletal approach as well as a neurological approach to using IASTM.

Upon completion of this course, the attendee will:

  • Students will be able to define and describe IASTM and its current techniques.
  • Students will be able to complete various IASTM strokes.
  • Students will understand the physiological effects that IASTM has on various soft tissues of the body.
  • Students will identify multiple indications and contraindications of IASTM.
